eTourism
1.3 - Stimulate economic conversion and diversification by promoting the regional endogenous potential
The e-Tourism project would aim to exploit information technology for tourism, with an emphasis on building capacity for information in tourism by local communities and businesses, focused on rural areas and small towns.
Possible work packages might be:
(1) Benchmarking( Collection of basic data about the current situation on e-Tourism in each partner area; assessment of the partners’ past experience in e-Tourism; evaluation of the implications of other European projects relevant to the e-Tourism theme.)
(2) Demonstration projects: Partners would develop pilot actions on eTourism, focused on at least one of two themes: (a) eContent: demonstration on how to make digital content more relevant and accessible for eTourism; (b) Human resources: capacity-building and capability-development by rural communities and business interests in eTourism
(3) Recommendations: Proposals for further development of the approach at regional and national level; international recommendations at EU level
(4) Dissemination
We would envisage a total project budget of €3m. With possibly 6 countries participating budget per country would be €500,000. Rate of EU assistance is 65%. Project duration would be 3 years.
