Conwy County Borough Council Conwy County Borough Council is a Welsh Local Authority which provides services to those who live in, work in, or visit the County. The Council comprises 23 Departments and 59 Councillors. The Council’s staff and elected members are responsible for the delivery of local services to the County’s 112,000 inhabitants and for the implementation of local policies in a wide range of field (e.g economic regeneration, social inclusion, sustainable tourism, rural development, coastal protection etc). Conwy County is located in North Wales and surrounded by the Irish Sea and the Snowdonia National Park. Tourism, health & social work, agriculture and local businesses are the key economic sectors of the area. The Costal Community Development Section supports and develops local community regeneration along the coastal strip of Conwy, where 80% of the population live. The Section is in charge of marketing Conwy as a tourist destination, through the brand “Visit Llandudno” and “Snowdonia Mountains and Coast”, of overseeing the Tourism Information Centres and networks of tourism information points and disseminating information to enhance the visitor experience.
